What I blog about
I blog about parenting two rambunctious children. While I struggle with the misadventures of being a domestically challenged mother, I also write about finding my own identity outside of parenthood. Occasionally, I include posts on my other interests such as gardening and food.
Favorite blogging tools and inspiration
I just switched from Blogger to Wordpress and wish I had done this months ago. Wordpress is so much more sophisticated than Blogger. I don't know Wordpress well enough to name all the must-have plug-ins with the exception of CommentLuv. I think it's a must have.
What I love most about blogging
I love the connections I've made through blogging. It really is a big world out there and there's so many people I've been able to "meet" through my blog. It's fantastic to connect with someone. I've also had the opportunity to meet quite a few local bloggers in the past few months which is exciting and fun.
Advice
- Start on Wordpress
- Buy your own domain name. It's cheap and looks professional
- Find blogs that interest and inspire you by clicking on the commenter links on blogs you already read
- Comment on blogs that you love. Let them know. Maybe they'll come visit you too!
- Use Twitter to connect to other people in your area of interest
