Type of Site:

Recommended Ages:

Site Description:
The National Geographic Wildlife Filmmaker allows you to make animal movies using short clips of a wide variety of animals. With a simple drag-and-drop interface, you can add animal sounds, music and captions. Once your masterpiece is completed, save it on the site to share with family and friends or email it to them directly. Each saved video has a distinct retrieval code, so make sure to help kids record this in a safe place.
Note to Parents:
Most of the National Geographic videos are very tame. I didn't notice any violent images while using the site. That said, please preview video clips if you have any concerns. One of the clips I chose had an arctic fox who seemed to be injured. Younger children and those who are particularly sensitive to animals might be upset by clips such as this one.
