DreamStarters are story beginnings that include characters, plot and location. Older kids might use these to write their own stories, or share them with parents. Even younger children will enjoy expanding on these tales and making up their own. The DreamStarter website has some DreamStarters to try out and also a printable game that gives you all the elements you need to write your own creative tales.
Please Note:
If you print out the DreamStarter game, take some time with your kids to brainstorm additional characters, locations and other plot elements. This will help engage them in the process and start to think of themselves as creators.
