Guide Review - Bee Movie Game

The Bee Movie Game starts out with Barry B. Benson's introduction to the hive as he graduates from college. Barry is torn between following the expected life path for bees and doing something exciting and different. Jerry Seinfeld reprises his role as the voice of Barry and, as a result, parent's should expect some Seinfeld-esque humor thrown in. It will generally go right over your kids' heads, but some parents might find it a bit too mature.

The game closely follows the plot of the movie with a variety of minigames to complete as you progress. While the linear path of the game might be fun for fans of the movie, it can be frustrating to get stuck on a particular task. You'll need to keep trying in order to pass that task and continue on with the game. Since most of the tasks are more about gaming controls than puzzle solving, non-gaming kids may struggle.

Barry's individual tasks include playing taxi driver, battling off other bugs, and dodging raindrops. The game is cute and kids who enjoyed the film will probably get a kick out of it. Older gamers will be happier with something else, unless they're a huge fan of the B.
