How is a Blog Different from a "Regular" Website?

By Christy Matte, About.com

Question: How is a Blog Different from a "Regular" Website?
Answer: Many people are confused about the difference between a blog and a website. There isn’t necessarily any difference. A blog resides on a website (a “Site” on the web) and may be the only content, or may be part of a bigger set of information. For example, a business might have a site that includes their mission statement, hours of operation, address, phone number and maybe information about products or services. This information isn’t updated very often and is what people often think of when they think of a “website.” However, the company might also have a blog on the website that talks about the latest news, job openings, special events or other items of interest. This part of the site might be updated daily or weekly, but is constantly evolving. Even though it’s a blog, it’s still part of the rest of the site.
