Desktop

Laptop

Best bet if you need to travel with the computer or have very limited space, but you'll get less computing power for your dollar and won't easily be able to upgrade.

Netbook

Ideal selection for people who travel extensively and need an ultra portable machine. Low value in terms of computing power and the ability to upgrade. Initial low costs may be misleading given performance level and value over time.

Although netbooks are trendy and cute, they are not the best choices for families, schools and organizations when compared in cost and performance to desktop machines.
