Eye-Fi Explore Video SDHC Memory Card

About.com Rating 4.5

By Christy Matte, About.com

The Bottom Line
The Eye-Fi Explore Video is just one in Eye-Fi's line of wi-fi compatible SD memory cards. The Eye-Fi Explore with Video allows for effortless uploading of photos and videos from your camera to your computer and/or photo and video sharing websites. The product is definitely a time-saver, especially if you upload photos to online photo sharing sites. On the other hand, because it uploads to the web and requires the camera battery, I would probably not use it to upload video.

Setting Up Your Eye-Fi

Setting up Eye-Fi is quick and easy. Simply plug the USB adapter into your computer, put the Eye-Fi card in the slot and run the included software (in most cases, it will auto-run). You’ll need to register with Eye-Fi (to access your online account) and set up your card to recognize the network. If you’ll be uploading to an online photo service like Flickr or Shutterfly, you’ll have to enter in your account information.

Using Your Eye-Fi

Once everything is set up, using Eye-Fi takes almost no effort at all. Put the card in your camera, take a picture, and wait for the magic to happen. The pictures upload to your Eye-Fi site and then download to your computer and/or transfer to your chosen online photo storage site(s).
