Definition: Spyware, as the name suggests, is a piece of software that collects information from your computer and transmits it to someone else over the internet, usually without your knowledge. Spyware can be malicious, collecting passwords and credit card information, although typically it is more benign, tracking browsing habits. Regardless of the intent of the spyware, it can slow down your machine. You’ll want to scan for it regularly
