Parenting Site of the Week: Baby Name Wizard NameVoyager
I happen to like my first name. I'm named after my grandmother and that's special to me. That said, variations on Christina (Christine, Christopher, Christie, Christy, Christa, Kristin...) were very popular when I was growing up. Since my family calls me Chris, I was constantly turning around to see who was calling my name. [On a side note, I ended up marrying a Christopher, so now it's really confusing!] How popular was your name? How popular are your kids' names?
If you have some time to kill, browse on over to the Baby Name Wizard's NameVoyager. This little java program is a visual representation of the popularity of various names over the past hundred or so years. It's a bit hard to explain, so I recommend you just go try it out. I have to warn you though, more than a few folks have found the site to be very addictive!
