Count Down to Christmas with Free Fun from kidthing

Wednesday November 26, 2008

If you're not familiar with kidthing, it's a media player that allows you to download books, games, videos and other fun stuff. Once the kidthing player is installed, you can browse their store to purchase digital content. The player automatically downloads purchases, which are then stored on your computer for offline use.

This holiday season, kidthing is offering a fun way to get ready for Christmas. Select "Countdown to Christmas" (free) from the kidthing store and your kids will receive a new game or activity each day in December through Christmas. It's like a virtual advent calendar!

I had the opportunity to preview Countdown to Christmas and it's a lot of fun. Activities include puzzles, videos, games, stories, crafts and more. Some were trickier than others (I still haven't completed one of the  "Spot the Difference" puzzles, while the Word Search was far too easy), but they're all engaging and backed with lovely Christmas music. You'll find that the activities will appeal to kids of different ages, which makes this a nice family treat.

Make sure to download the media player first and be forewarned that several of the activities require a printer and real-life supplies (scissors, glue, markers).
