International Family Computing Weekend

Wednesday March 26, 2008

According to the About.com Guide to Family Crafts' Holiday Calendar, March 26 is "Make Up Your Own Holiday Day". In honor of the day, I have decided to declare March 28-30 International Family Computing Weekend. Why?  Well, why not?

In honor of Family Computing Weekend, please take some time to chat with your kids about Internet safety. Yeah, maybe they have heard it all before, but it can't hurt to say it again. If you need ideas, check out the Teen Guide to MySpace and Online Safety.

Now that we've got that out of the way, how about some fun? Gather the family for a fun computer-based project. It's a good time to talk about good basic computing habits (take frequent breaks, save your work, etc.). Try out some of these great family-friendly digital camera projects:

If you do decide to celebrate International Family Computing Weekend, leave a comment to let us know how it went!
