Ty and Build-a-Bear Workshop Join the Virtual World Revolution

Thursday February 14, 2008

Competition for the attention of our kids is getting more fierce.

Build-a-Bear Workshop launched their virtual world late last year with a free website designed to encourage kids to have fun, learn more and stay fit. Kids can adopt their Build-a-Bear friends in the online world, but can also play without a purchase. Check out Build-A-Bearville.

Ty recently announced Beanie Babies 2.0, a virtual world with characters that look suspiciously like virtual world favorites, Webkinz. Beanie Babies are required for online play, so I haven't had a chance to take a look at it yet, but I'll let you know when I do.

I've also got a list of some other virtual worlds for young kids.
